NICHD, NIH Position Available: Physician, Division of Extramural Research

The Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) is seeking a Physician with expertise relevant to providing scientific leadership and administering grants/contracts in support of research within the institute’s mission.

NICHD, NIH is looking for applicants with clinical or research expertise who have a commitment to excellence and the energy, enthusiasm, and innovative thinking to lead dynamic and diverse programs.

NICHD, NIH is seeking talented Physicians to join the Division of Extramural Research (DER). DER develops, implements, and coordinates cross-cutting, multidisciplinary research activities within NICHD's mission. This includes, but is not limited to, efforts that focus on: demography, social sciences, and population dynamics; male and female fertility and infertility; developing and evaluating contraceptive methods; improving women’s health before, during, and after pregnancy; reducing birth complications and increasing infant survival; enhancing the safety and efficacy of pharmaceuticals biology and typical and atypical development; intellectual and developmental disabilities for use in pregnant women, infants, and children; HIV infection and transmission, AIDS, and associated infections; pediatric growth and endocrine research; child development and behavior; developmental; gynecologic health conditions, including pelvic floor disorders; and childhood injury and critical illness. As a physician, you will utilize your medical expertise to administer extramural research grants or contracts in a major program area. You will evaluate activities of funded investigators and make recommendations regarding the contribution of the research to the goals and objectives of the program.
