Honoring Dr. Bob Brent

Dear Colleagues,

This is a quick note to inform our members about plans to honor the memory of Bob Brent, one of our original members and past presidents.

At this year’s Virtual Annual Meeting, we will have a short video montage to precede the annual Brent Lecture and Teratogen Update. We would like to include quotes from Dr. Brent’s colleagues and trainees. Please email your name, title, institution and comments to: Chris Curran (curranc1@nku.edu) with “Brent Memorial” in the subject line, no later than Tuesday June 8.

Next year, we are planning a special symposium and memorial event at the 2022 Annual Meeting and a special issue of Birth Defects Research organized by guest editors Richard Miller (RichardK_Miller@URMC.Rochester.edu) and Jan Friedman (jmf@bcchr.ca).

We are encouraging you to participate in as many events as possible and to share your thoughts and memories of Dr. Brent’s contributions to the Society and to the field of birth defects research and prevention.

Thanks to all for your help in supporting BDRP’s efforts to recognize Dr. Brent’s decades of service and science.

Sincerely,

Chris Curran

BDRP Past President
