January Is National Birth Defects Prevention Month

JANUARY IS NATIONAL BIRTH DEFECTS PREVENTION MONTH.

This year’s theme is "Medication Use Before, During, and After Pregnancy". The Teratology Society is joining over 350 members of the National Birth Defects Prevention Network (NBDPN) to share the message that women of childbearing age should talk with a doctor about which medications, herbals, and dietary supplements are safe to take during pregnancy.

NBDPN has produced resource materials for educational outreach and prevention which are available for you to use. Please take the time to become familiar with the materials and share them with individuals or organizations that work with women of childbearing age.  Links to several of these resources are below.  Visit the NBPDN site for a complete listing of the resource materials
