Postdoctoral Positions in Developmental Biology – Pennington Biomedical Research Center, Baton Rouge, LA

Postdoctoral positions available in developmental biology laboratory to investigate epigenetic factors that contribute to the risk for neural tube defects and to identify new genes that play a role in neural tube defects (spina bifida). Both projects employ (epi-)genome editing (CRISPR/TALEN) in mouse models, with a focus on gene function and the influence of maternal metabolism during gastrulation and neurulation. The laboratory is well-funded by the National Institutes of Health, but candidates are also expected to apply for fellowships. Requirements are a PhD degree (or equivalent) in an appropriate biomedical discipline, knowledge in genetics, cell and developmental biology, and experience with molecular biology methods.
