The Society for Birth Defects Research and Prevention (BDRP) is fortunate to have a driving force of members who serve in leadership positions. The work of the Society is done mainly through the activities of its committees and the dedicated members who serve on and lead those committees. BDRP has ushered in many successful initiatives under its past and current leadership, so we are excited to announce that Society leadership will make new committee appointments this spring, for the 2021-2022 term that will begin on July 1, 2021.
If you enjoy being creative and brainstorming with others, are looking to expand your scientific network, want to make a greater impact on the Society and in the field, or are looking to gain leadership or service experience, then there is room for you! Members at all career stages, including trainees, are welcome and encouraged to volunteer to serve on committees.
Please let us know if you would like to serve on a committee or have input for our Society activities by completing the Volunteer Interest Survey (member login required). If you would like additional information, you can read more about the committees and their responsibilities, or feel free to contact the chair of any committee in which you are interested. Current committee rosters are posted on the website, and member contact information is available in the Member Directory.
The survey also includes a place where you can indicate your interest in serving as a mentor to trainees and junior members of the Society, contributing to the Society’s Birth Defects Insights blog series, or serving as a peer reviewer for the Society’s journal, Birth Defects Research.
The Society values your input and active participation. Thank you for doing your part to help support the Society!
