With a heavy heart I am writing to report that Dr. Robert L. Brent passed away on Friday, February 26th at the age of 94. Dr. Brent was a charter member of the Teratology Society, now the Society for Birth Defects Research and Prevention, and served as the Society’s President in 1967-1968.
Each year, I find the holiday season as a natural time to pause and reflect upon the year that has just been completed. As I contemplate this past year, I, like so many others, am ready to toss out the old and look forward to a year of new beginnings and fresh starts...
I am pleased to share with you a short video of highlights from the Society for Birth Defects Research and Prevention’s 60th Annual Meeting which took place virtually this summer.
Over the last several days, countless institutions have spoken out against the systemic social, economic and racial injustices epitomized by the deaths of George Floyd in Minneapolis, Breonna Taylor in Louisville, and Ahmaud Arbery in South Georgia.
Please share photos in honor of the 60th Anniversary!
